Microbial Filter and Provox HME in unique combination!
Catching infectious diseases via airborne pathogens can be troublesome for everyone, but it can be especially problematic if you have a diminished pulmonary capacity or compromised immune system. After a total laryngectomy, the air no longer passes the natural air conditioner provided by the nose and mouth. Unfiltered, cold and dry air is inhaled through the tracheostoma directly to the lungs, which means the protection against harmful airborne pathogens is decreased.
The Provox Micron HME
Out of the original Provox HME, we created a device that also filters the inhaled air. This electrostatic material filters charged particles which get caught in the filtering grid net.
In fact, independent lab tests shows a bacterial and viral filtration efficacy of >99%!
Provox Micron HME is, all in all, a very versatile HME device:
- discrete with a soft plastic housing
- easy to use; just open the box and place it on any of the attachment devices in the Provox HME System
- disposable, discard it 24 hours after first use
- Occludable for TE speech
- Same HME capabilities as the original Provox HME
- High efficiency in filtering inhaled air

The Provox System
For many years, thousands of users world wide are used to the Provox System as the leading standard within vocal and pulmonary rehabilitation after total laryngectomy. The Provox HME cassettes are today well recognized, well documented and highly appreciated devices in pulmonary rehabilitation. The Provox HME cassettes not only improve the pulmonary functions and decrease related problems by moisturizing the inhaled air, they also facilitate tracheostoma occlusion for speech.
